Ian Elliot

Ian Elliot was born in Glasgow, Scotland.  He won gold and bronze medals for art on four successive occasions before attending and graduating from Glasgow School of Art. Thereafter, Ian entered the teaching profession to become the Head of Art & Design in King’s Park Secondary School in Glasgow. He left teaching 1997 to devote himself totally to the pursuit and development of his own artistic career. Ian Elliot now visits, and gains much inspiration from, the island of Mallorca.  He is also inspired by Italy and France, sharply contrasting environments from that of his native shores. He is known for incorporating the strong colours of the Mediterranean in all his landscapes.

Ian has exhibited in the RSW Exhibition, Edinburgh, the Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI), the Paisley Art Institute (PAI), the Aberdeen Artists’ Society (AAS). The Affordable Art Show, Battersea, The Glasgow Art Fair. The Scottish Show Thompson’s Gallery, Marylebone, The Scottish Show Richmond Hill Gallery, the Eton Gallery. The London Art Fair along with successful displays in regular exhibitions in a variety of Scottish galleries and charity events, with English galleries showing an ever increasing interest. Furthermore Ian Elliot, apart from one man shows, is also involved regularly in a variety of group shows.

Besides Britain, has works hanging in Canada, Belgium, Eire, France, Germany, Spain, and The United States, amongst others.

Ian Elliot’s work appeared in the prestigious International Artist magazine as one of ten finalists in their (global) landscape competition, and more recently in a ten page feature article. Ian’s work can also be seen on Tartan2 CV calendars and greetings cards.

From 2012, Ian’s name is listed in the Morven Press’s ‘Who’s Who In Art.
