CLAIRE HARKESS
Claire Harkess was born in Ayr in 1970 and graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 1993. She is an elected member of The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW).
She is widely regarded as one of the finest painters of wildlife working in watercolour in the UK and has exhibited throughout the UK and indeed worldwide. She recently had a very successful solo show at The Scottish Gallery, and continues to exhibit in the most highly regarde galleries including the RSW, Royal Scottish Academy, VAS, Royal Scottish Academy, Open Eye Gallery, Edinburgh, Society of Wildlife Artists, Mall Galleries, London and many more.
In 2006 she received the SAC Peth and Kinross Artist award and in 2002 she exhibited at Singer and Friedlander / Sunday Times Competition.
Claire Harkess' work is in the public collections of Perth Museum and Art Gallery and The Royal Scottish Geographical Society. |
